Inuyasha Characters
Inuyasha (犬夜叉)
Son of a taiyoukai and a human woman, Inuyasha wishes to become a full demon. In order to do this, he needs the Shikon no Tama - a jewel with great magical power. During an attempt to get the Shikon he was sealed by Kikyou the priestess of the shrine. For 50 years he has been sealed in the magical forest called Inuyasha no Mori, until Kagome broke the seal and set him free.
Higurashi Kagome (日暮 かごめ)
A normal japanese girl, Kagome has not much respect for history. The day of her 15th birthday she fell into her family's shrine well. She manages to climb up to find herself in feudal Japan, 50 years to the day of Kikyou's death. In order to save the village from a demon attack she unsealed Inuyasha.
Kikyou (桔梗)
Village priestess and guardian of the Shikon no Tama. Her strong spiritual powers were said to purify the Shikon no Tama. A master archer, Kikyou managed to seal Inuyasha, but was fatally wounded and died. Her last wish is that her body is to be burned along with the Jewel so no demon or evil person could get a hold of it.
Kaede (楓)
Younger sister of Kikyou. She was still a little girl when her sister died. Fifty years later, she is the guide of the village. As soon as she sees Kagome, Kaede noticed the astonishing resemblance with her sister. She as a little bit of power of herself and she uses it and her knowledge about youkai to help Kagome and Inuyasha in their search for the Jewel.
Shippou (七宝)
A young kitsune youkai who sought revenge for the death of his father by the hands of the Thunder Brothers, Hiten and Manten. He has the ability of change forms. He joined Inuyasha and Kagome in the search of the Shikon no Kakera. He has the ability of change forms and uses the Kitsune-bi attack.
Miroku (弥勒)
A Buddhist monk who loves money and beautiful women. Miroku has a Kazaana in his right hand which can swallow everything, so he seals it with a rosary. He collects Shikon Shards in order to lure the youkai Naraku who had cursed his family with the Air Void which will eventually kill him if he doesn't. He decides to join forces with Kagome and Inuyasha.
Sango (珊瑚)
Most skilled exterminator of the Demon Exterminators village. She uses a huge boomerang made from youkai bones called Hiraikotsu. While in an extermination job both her father and brother died and she was badly hurt. By the same time her village was attacked by a pack of youkai killing everyone. Now, she looks for vengeance against the demon who killed her comrades.
Sesshoumaru (殺生丸)
Cruel youkai who despises his younger brother Inuyasha for being a hanyou. Extremely powerful, Sesshoumaru wants the Tetsusaiga, a sword left to Inuyasha by their father, to increase his power even further.
