Mikomi waved as the two lords departed before she held Inuyasha with both hands again. Her ears flickered and she looked at Naito. “Uncle?” she questioned in amusement. The female turned and walked in the direction where she had left her tiger lilies. “Don’t worry Inuyasha-kun, we don’t have to go to the village if you don’t want to,” she stated. She approached the tree she and her father had sat under earlier, but her flowers were missing. Mikomi frowned and she set Inuyasha down onto his feet before she picked up the white parchment that was left on the ground. There was something written on it: I’m watching you.

Her ears lowered before she glanced this way and that. This was a bad time to have the pup around, she thought.

Naito put his arms in his sleeves and watched as Mikomi walked ahead but paused to pick up what looked like a type of paper. He narrowed his eyes and looked to the forest outside of the village silently, all he saw was a swift shadow but he opted against going after it alone. He went over to Mikomi and smiled.“Let’s go for a walk then.“He suggested at her earlier statement.“Well yes, I guess I am his uncle since Touken and I are old friends.“He stopped and reached out to touch her shoulder but paused, opting against that as well and put his arm down.“I’ll be at the hut if you need me.“He said and smirked, turning and taking his leave there.

Inuyasha looked around, oblivious to the danger that both Naito and Mikomi had picked up. He sniffed the air. There was the smell of tiger lilies around, but no flowers in sight. Confused, the small pup went all around the tree, and then around again, growling in frustration when the flowers still did not appear. They smelled lovely, just like Mikomi-nee-san. His innocent golden orbs blinked when Naito also took his leave. The young hanyou waved, unsure if the older male saw him or not. His ears twitched adorably on his head. Then, he remembered something amazing that he had seen Sesshoumaru-onii-sama done before. It was a series of graceful flips in the air. He got down on his feet, and rolled forward on the lush green grass. “Look at me Mikomi-nee-san!” he called out to the older female. “Isn’t this just like what Onii-sama does?!”

Mikomi watched Naito in the corner of her eye when he left. She crumpled the parchment and kept it in her closed hand as she observed the pup search for her missing flowers. The female smiled in slight amusement when he noticed that his sense of sight and smell were conflicting. Then, she wondered if she could find a trail of the tiger lilies. At the thought she glanced around and then mused, No, I might end up following father’s trail when he first came here. Mikomi gave up and then looked at Inuyasha whom requested her attention. She grinned and said excitedly, “That’s exactly how he does it.”

In his hut, Naito sipped a little bit of tea. He looked up and saw a transparent woman sitting infront of him, he was about to stand but the woman held out her hand, showing she meant no harm.

“Young Naito..I am so pleased to see that you are well.”

“Who are you.”

“My name is Abe No Kuzunoha..wife of Abe No Yasuna and—”

“My mother..”

“Your memory of her, yes.“Kuzunoha calmly smiled.

“Why have you come?“He said and took a sip of his tea.

“That man in the Baboon pelt that is meant to be Kikyou’s murderer..you did not see him in your vision but it was him disguised as the Hanyou known to you as Inuyasha, son of Izayoi.”

“Why would that man take on Inuyasha’s appearance?“Naito asked.

“Because Kikyou will come to trust the young man"Kuzunoha said.

Naito looked down and glared to the ground.“I can’t let that happen..I can’t let Kikyou die, not for some stupid jewel.”

“A chosen one will come to reclaim the jewel and save the feudal era my son..there is no need to be afraid, destiny cannot be changed..but it can change a person..this is my wisdom for you, do all you can and leave the rest..“She started to fade away.“To destiny..“She completely vanished.

He thought on her words while glancing down into his tea, watching his reflection helped him think as well. He only sat there silently and then got up. He went out and went over to where Inuyasha and Mikomi was, seeing the young Hanyou in a strange stance, he merely smiled and clapped a few times.“Mikomi, I’d like you to have tea with me later on, we have something to discuss..I hope you don’t mind?“He asked the young demoness with a small and kind smile.

The female turned to Naito when she heard his clap. She was about to turn back to Inuyasha when he spoke to her. Mikomi’s ears flickered thoughtfully. “When the pup returns to the palace,” she agreed. She faced the young hanyou again and thought: Why is he always offering me tea?

The hybrid saw movement in the corner of her eye and she placed her hand on the hilt of her sword. Satsujin would surely warn her if there was danger, but she couldn’t let her guard down. The demon that attacked her had a way of disguising his presence…and she didn’t like it.

Naito smiled to her response and looked over to the little Hanyou. He then looked over to Mikomi when she put her hand on the hilt of her sword. He then looked towards the direction of the shadows and saw a momentary movement in the underbrush. He blinked twice but nothing else happened.. he saw movement where Mikomi was looking and he stood still, whether waiting for something to show itself or leave, either way he came prepared.

Inuyasha grinned widely, proud of his accomplishments. He then threw a fist at an imagined enemy, and punched him to the ground, kicking his legs out in the air the way Kasumi had done before. His ears twitched on the top of his head when both Mikomi and Naito turned to stare at a strange occurrence in the bushes. The small hanyou blinked a few times, and then shrugged off the uneasiness that he was feeling. However, he moved closer to Mikomi, and clung onto her leg. He was scared, even though he was unsure of what the cause was in general.

Mikomi took her hand off the hilt of her fang to place it on top of Inuyasha’s head. Gently, she tugged on one of his ears affectionately to let him know that everything was all right. She smiled down at him. Lord Touken and Lady Izayoi are both very beautiful; which promises that Inuyasha will be handsome in the future just like Touken’s other children. He will most likely be strong too; he might try extra hard to prove himself…just like she had. “How about we go exploring?” she asked him softly.

Naito looked over to Mikomi and then to Inuyasha with a small smile. He looked to Mikomi at her suggestion and his smile faded a bit but still kept it. He put his arms in his sleeves and put some weight on his left leg.“I’ll be here whenever you need me.“He said to Mikomi, having the strongest feeling she wanted to spend time with Inuyasha by herself, he didn’t mind, Mikomi was more than capable of protecting Inuyasha from any malignant entities. Even if his feelings for Mikomi was strong, her feelings for Inuyasha were stronger so he had to step aside sometimes.

The female bent down slightly to take Inuyasha’s hand into her own; she didn’t want the hanyou to get hasty and run off. Considering, the demon was probably still watching her. She wasn’t sure why, but she had a feeling that he had some interest in Inuyasha. Was it because she cared for him? Did he want to find her weaknesses, or perhaps even drive her out of the village? Tch, his attempts are futile, Mikomi thought. The female then turned to the kitsune with a kind smile and asked, “Won’t you come with us?”

Naito silently considered her offer, at least she smiled this time..no angry scowl or roll of the eyes. He did want to come but he was needed in the village as well..he hated conflict. He sighed.“I guess tea time can wait for now.“He said with a soft smile back.“I’ll join you, I would like to talk to you about something Mikomi, I’ll have to talk to Kikyo later too, report what I’ve been learning"He said and looked to the village gate, sensing the being was still watching them, why was this demon so focused on them..He looked over to Mikomi, shaking out the though, Mikomi was strong and Naito was capable of defending himself, they could both protect Inuyasha very effectively.“Shall we then?“He said and walked on ahead.

The female followed behind Naito with Inuyasha beside her. Her mind wandered off into two different places: what did Naito want to talk to her about, and was the demon still watching her? She resisted the urge to sigh before she tilted her head up towards the sky. Today was going to be a long day.

Naito put his hands in his sleeves and gave a small smile, continuing to walk out of the village and looked back, seeing the two following him still. He smiled a little and looked forward again. He glanced up to the sky and breathed in the cool air, breathing out gently.“Well Mikomi, what would you like to do while we are watching over Inuyasha?“He asked, not even looking at the two when he spoke.

The female didn’t answer as she spotted a field of flowers. She bent down to Inuyasha’s level and asked, “Why don’t you go pick some for your mother?” She waited until the hanyou was out of earshot; he was still young so his hearing was not to it’s full potential yet. “You can feel it too, can’t you?” she questioned Naito. Mikomi didn’t look at him, instead she watched Inuyasha like a hawk. The same way she was being watched.

Somewhere, hidden inside a barrier laid a castle. Inside the castle was the half-demon Naraku; whom sat in a dark room while he stared inside a mirror held by a young girl. His incarnation Kanna was white as a ghost and her blank stare was just as haunting. Naraku smirked at the mirror that viewed Mikomi. “She’s more intuitive than I thought,” he mused out loud.

A woman older than Kanna, but still fairly young, kept to the shadows; though her red eyes seemed to glow within the darkness. “Shall I take care of her?” she asked.

“Not yet, I wish to converse with her first…and soon,” Naraku replied darkly.
