As an old member of Inuyasha.nu, it’s great to see the new updates and improvements that have been made to the site since it first began. However, upon returning, I’ve noticed one little problem. No activity! It’s a shame to see such a wonderful site go from having a fun, active community, to nearly becoming a ghost town.

I don’t know about you guys, but I’d like to see more happening with .NU. I’m talking more members, more activity, a closer community, and overall, a more enjoyable place for Inuyasha fans.

Some Suggestions:

Advertising - Reeling in new members might be tricky, but it isn’t impossible. I think what we need is some sort of advertising campaign, or a group of dedicated members to go out there and try and recruit and increase site traffic.

Contests, Polls, Community Events - To try and spice things up, I was thinking about possibly having events for current members to participate in. These can be anything! Such as writing/art/other contests, polls, chat room games, whatever you all find interesting!

.NU was always one of my favorite sites, and I’m sure with a little work and dedication, this place has the potential to be a big success.

Opinions? Comments? Other suggestions, anyone? :]

Hey, what’s up? If anyone remembers me I was Kagome (green), because the color of my typing was always green or I would always have my name like this “Kagome(green)”. I wanted to make this forum thing to recall the memories from a few years ago. This website had an awesome chat room a couple of years ago. I used to have a lot of friends there and stuff. We all lost contact of each other after they closed it down (I don’t know why, i think it’s because we didn’t follow the rules?). Anyway who ever was here a couple of years ago, let us all reunite and talk together on the chat room. I want to see all my buddies again and acquaintances.

What would you like to see here in the future?

On the To Do list already:
Reopen the Fanart Gallery, The Picture Gallery, The Goodies, Information Areas, Chatroom integrated with website accounts so you dont have to double-login and Add New Moderators.

On the Maybe list:
1. Fanfic Archive - Would you guys like the fanfics to be actually featured on the site, not only on the forums?
2. Music Area - The old player, unsure if it will be back or no.

Yep, Mystearica here with a small suggestion. I’ve been posting on forums for a very long time and this seems to be the only forum without a section for newbs to introduce myself. Maybe you might want to make one?

I also suggest an “other fanfiction” section so we may post fanfictions and stories that are not related to Inuyasha?

First item on the agenda:

I was thinking of doing a “Karma” system.

Members would get a “Karma” section in their profiles. All starting out with 0 of course. The would get positive or negative points, based on their actions on the forums. Points could either be assigned by moderators themselves or other members. (Members would have to state their reason to a moderator who would approve or disapprove, depending on the consequences. Would require a specialised moderator).

Pro: Members and their anticipated behavior could be indentified.
Con: Might lead to labeling, discrimination. Subjective, if you don’t want to be treated like an idiot, don’t act like one.

Second item on the agenda:

Factions, or so to speak of, more groups. Specifically, making more than just the “Moderators” and “Members” group. Creating groups which would, for example, invite experienced and interested RPers, who would eventually have their own forum RP section just for them (Thanks goes to Haru for the RP section idea). Other groups might develop with time.

Pro: In the case of RP, would rule out godmodders, meta-gamers, l33t speakers or one-line posters and thus secure an enjoyable RP experience. The groups mentioned above would still be able to RP, of course, but not in the section for the experienced RPers.
Con: Against the ‘discrimination’ rules. Subjective, people who don’t want bad RPers in ther RP topic just post rules about godmodding and such which makes the ‘bad’ RPers stay away. So, no change there.

Third item on the agenda:

RP academy, might be a detachment. Not such an important part of the site but it might actually make people who are interested in RPing but don’t have such an experience with it more motivated to learn. I don’t know how involved the founder of the site is in the matter of RP but it really can ruin a good RPing experience when someone becomes unbeatable/reads your thoughts/posts one-line l33t speak posts. RPing, after all, is an important part of the site.

Pro: More sophisticated RP community
Cons: Time challenging for teachers, another time consuming task for administration, not such an important part of the forum.

My suggestion so far, others might come later. I’d like to know everyone’s opinion via posts or polls ... or both.
